The Bo' Ling Chop Suey Palace is a Chinese restaurant in Bob Clark's 1983 film, A Christmas Story. This restaurant is where the Parkers went out to eat on Christmas, after The Bumpus Hounds ate their turkey. They described the food as "Chinese Turkey" even though it was really a duck.

History[]

A Christmas Story: Chinese Turkey?[]

In the thirty-first scene of the film, "Chinese Turkey?", the Parkers went out to eat after the Bumpus Hounds ate their turkey. At the Chinese restaurant, the employees tried to sing Christmas carols. The 'L' sounds were replaced with 'R' sounds. This caused them to sing the songs in an altered way. The Parkers were brought a duck. Mrs. Parker hated that it had a head still on, screaming even. The chef cut the head of, they cheered, and ate.

Trivia[]

  • The sign for the restaurant used to say "Bowling" but the 'w' went out, leaving it to say "Bo' Ling".
