A Christmas Story Wiki

A Christmas Story 2 is the second sequel to A Christmas Story. The film is directed by Brian Levant. It stars Daniel Stern and Braeden Lemasters. This is a direct sequel to the original movie, and it pays no mind to the events in My Summer Story. This was a direct to video release on October 30th, 2012. Although it is labeled a "direct sequel" in the trailers, the movie isn't based on any of Jean Shepherd's writings. It relies on a script which was created by Nat Mauldin who is the film's narrator

The film takes place in 1946 which is six years after A Christmas Story. Ralphie is now a 15 year old boy, and all he wants is a used 1939 Mercury Eight convertible for Christmas. He tries to test the car out when he sees it on a display ramp, but he ends up accidently causes the car to roll back out of the used car dealership. The car then gently taps a light pole, causing a plastic reindeer on the pole to loosen and fall through the convertible top. Ralphie teams up with Flick and Schwartz to raise enough money to pay the dealer back for fixing it before Christmas so that the car dealer won't have Ralph arrested and presumably thrown in jail.

Ralphie and friends end up getting a job after they all work throughout the Higbee's store, but they end up getting into a fight with a store Santa which ends with them being fired. Thankfully Ralphie ends up getting his job back after he begged and pleaded, but by Christmas Eve he finds he's $1 short to pay back the dealer. Ralphie and Flick rob Schwartz of his "lucky buck", and head off to pay the dealer. On his way to pay back the dealer Ralphie ends up deciding to donate a chunk to a less fortunate family. He ends up off the hook with the owner of the dealership. In the end he does end up with the car he wanted for Christmas, and a girlfriend he wants to go with it.
